Mandarin Chinese Vocabulary Quiz (2)


Ok, so you know the format by now, guess the English word from the cryptic clue and then work out the Chinese translation of that word.  Also I can’t use any of the words in the answer in the question.

e.g. Four legged mammal.  Man’s best friend = dog 狗 gǒu

  • One of the world’s most popular hot drinks, in a ground state making transportation easy = instant coffee 速溶咖啡 sùróng kāfēi
  • A metal contraption which once heated is used to smooth creases out of clothing = iron 熨斗 yùndǒu
  • What one buys to cover expenses if they should injure themselves or if something breaks = insurance 保险 bǎoxiǎn
