Spanish Lesson 2

Now you need to start a conversation!

Here’s how to ask and reply to some simple questions:

  • ¿Qué tal? – How are you?
  • ¿Cómo estás? – How are you?
  • Estoy… – I am…
  • bien – well/good
  • muy bien – very good
  • cansado/cansada – tired
  • mal – bad
  • enfermo/enferma – ill / unwell
  • muy… – very…

Let’s see if you can understand this simple conversation!

  • A = ¡Hola!
  • B = ¡Hola!  ¿Qué tal?
  • A = Muy bien gracias, ¿y tú?
  • B = ¡Muy mal!
  • A = ¡Qué pena!
  • B = Adiós
  • A = Hasta luego

  1. How is B feeling?
  2. How do you say, “What a shame!” in Spanish?
  3. What’s another way of saying goodbye?
  4. How would you say, “and you?”.

There are 2 words for ‘Tired’ and ‘Ill’.  Why?

In Spanish there are masculine (boy) and feminine (girl) words for certain words.

Simply, if you are a boy, it should end in an -o

If you are a girl it should end in an -a

Easy as that!

Now get talking in Spanish…

Hasta luego

  1. Very bad
  2. ¡Qué pena!
  3. Hasta luego
  4. ¿y tú?
